General information about our vineyard
You can find our vineyard on a Southside slope in Sint-Martens-Voeren, a typical and picturesque village in a marvellous landscape. To the south of this area, a little brook “the veurs” flows throughout this peaceful countryside. The geographic location of the vineyard is very interesting to cultivate grapes because the presence of this brook is a real screen to protect and to warm up the climate. It’s very profitable to get ripe grapes. Our vineyard (2,2 ha) is also protected by some woods against the north and east wind.
The soil is composed by limestone and it’s really in the favour of chardonnay and pinot noir grapes growing.
Where’s the name “Crutzberg” coming from? The vineyard is not far from the square-farm “Crutzberg”. Some parts of this building go all the way back to the 17th century. From the farm you have a very nice sight on the vineyard at any season.
Since 2010, Eugene Ernens has passionately taken care of his property with its 7 000 chardonnay and 2 000 pinot noir vines. Of course, he’s assisted by some faithful helpers.
